The Distinguished Delta Zeta Chapter

The Distinguished Delta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on February 3, 1954. It was chartered by 18 women, making it the first African American sorority on the campus of Michigan State College of Agriculture and Applied Science (now Michigan State University) and the 18th sorority on campus.
The Delta Zeta Chapter has welcomed over 600 young women into the sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated since its inception. The chapter continues along an ambitious path of various community service activities, programs, and events to be of aide in the community and the surrounding areas. The Distinguished Delta Zeta Chapter has received several awards at Regional Conferences, and several Delta Zeta members have served at the Regional and National levels.
